Do Food and Body Concerns Take Up More Space In Your Mind Than You Want?

Do you find yourself:

  • Cycling between restricting, overeating, and shame, with promises to “start over tomorrow.”

  • Having constant food thoughts—planning, compensating, negotiating, or replaying what you ate.

  • Body checking or avoidance — feeling disconnected or critical of your reflection.

  • Feeling Guilt around rest or exercise - like you have to earn food or justify eating.

  • Experiencing ongoing anxiety and perfectionism, especially around eating, exercise, or body changes.

  • Feeling exhausted from thinking about food and your body all the time.

  • Struggling to stay present in relationships, at work, or in social situations because food or body worries take up so much mental space.

  • Feeling deep shame after eating in ways that don’t align with the rules you’ve set for yourself.

  • Fearing losing control around food or gaining weight.

  • Hearing a harsh, critical inner voice that ties your worth to appearance, discipline, or “doing it right.”

If any of this resonates, you’re not alone, and you don’t have to navigate it by yourself.

Therapy offers space to understand what’s driving these patterns, and to build a relationship with food and your body that feels calmer, more trusting, and less fear-based.

I’m here to support you.

How I Support You

  • Magnifying glass with a question mark inside, representing search or inquiry.

    Understand What’s Beneath the Struggle

Eating concerns often point to something deeper than food itself. Together, we’ll explore how your eating patterns have been responding emotionally, relationally, or historically, with curiosity rather than judgement.

  • A stylized illustration of a brain with five emoticons around it representing different emotions, including happy, sad, angry, surprised, and neutral.

    Explore Emotions and Unmet Needs

Food and body struggles are often ways of coping with difficult emotions or unmet needs. Therapy offers space to identify these experiences and develop new ways of responding to them with care and support.

  • Open book with a check mark in one circle and an X in another circle.

Ease the Hold of Rules and Self-Criticism

Rigid food rules and harsh self-talk can feel protective, even when they’re exhausting. We’ll work toward loosening their grip, so decisions feel less driven by fear and more grounded in trust and flexibility.

  • Outline of two hands holding a heart.

Build a Kinder Relationship with Yourself

Healing isn’t about fixing your body. Therapy helps you develop a kinder, more sustainable relationship with yourself — one that isn’t defined by weight, appearance, or performance.

Hi, I’m Tisha

A Registered Psychotherapist (Qualifying) in Toronto, working with adults navigating disordered eating, body image struggles, and the complex emotional and behavioural patterns that often accompany them.

I believe that how we relate to food and to our bodies is rarely just about food or appearance, but about coping, protection, survival, and the stories we’ve learned along the way.

My approach is grounded in curiosity and compassion

About me

“One of the deepest needs of the human psyche is to feel understood.”

OTHER AREAS OF FOCUS

Disordered eating and body image struggles rarely exist in isolation. It's often a signal that something deeper needs attention—unprocessed emotional pain, the weight of perfectionism, or a system trying to regain control when everything else feels uncertain.

  • Anxiety or depression that feels hard to shake

  • Relationship patterns that feel confusing or painful

  • Trauma and its lingering effects

  • Life changes, transitions or identity shifts

  • Stress, perfectionism, or a harsh self-critic voice

  • A sense of overwhelm that’s difficult to name

In therapy, we gently explore how these experiences connect, what your mind and body have been trying to cope with or protect, and how to move forward with more clarity and self-compassion.
